        E. Waddell, b. December 29, 1809, d. August 3,
        1858, was the wife of 
		Edmund Atkinson. She was the daughter of
        Dr. Moses Waddell, the President of the University of
        Georgia. She is buried beside her husband at Black
        Hammock.

                Notes for ALEXANDER ATKINSON: 
                Captain Alexander Atkinson, a brother of the
                gallant Colonel Edmond N. Atkinson. was born in
                1836 and graduated at Franklin College about
                1856. He studied law and was admitted to the bar.
                He entered the Confederate Army early in 1861 and
                was elected to command the Quitman Guards, and
                infantry company attached to his brother's
                regiment. He was wounded in one of the battles in
                Virginia so severely that he was discharged from
                the service. He died at Black Hammock in 1912.
